  1. How are your online shopping experiences?

I used to like it a lot but my last 5 purchases have been terrible.

One transaction took 9 months to refund my money and
    another one took 5 months.

    It's getting worse.

I've had almost nothing but good luck with online purchases personally.

With the exception of eBay I've never had any bad experiences with on-line shopping.

I've had pretty much entirely great experiences with online shopping. the only glitch was when it took amazon about 4 monmths to send me my dvd. This was because(I assume anywyas) it was a fairly obscure dvd that took them a while to get in.

  5. So far I've had very good experiences shopping online. Once I needed a part for my riding lawnmower and none of the dealers around me could get it. I even called the company and they couldn't get it. I went online and did a Google search and in 3 days I had my mower running. I buy a lot of my computer hardware and software online now.

I've had no problems. Just that one guy on ebay that sent me the wrong item.
    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

I don't do much of it and being as there was no middle of the road choice I picked getting worse. Stuff that I order on my wifes behalf is usually small off the shelf crap (Mugs and nick nac crap presents that she buys to give or for her sister). But it seems that when I order for my credit card challenged brother, shit always goes wrong. Out of stock, back ordered, no longer available, longer than expected restock. He is like the jinx of online shopping. I honestly don't think he has ever had a simple order. And of course, it is on my card!

Errr! Family! Can't live with 'em and can't kill 'em!
IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?

Sure it wasn't me (grin)? I'm in the middle of another eBay adventure. Back in late August, I ordered this. He requested money orders or cashier's checks only ... so I sent him a cashier's check on 8/28. On 9/5, the check cleared my bank. I queried him about this item and, today, he says it's enroute. We shall see.

You know what was interesting in that thread? Nobody posted a thing there about OEM disks not being covered under warranty by Microsoft ... until I did. This leads me to believe that I wasn't the only one on a learning curve (grin).

FWIW, on the latest eBay order mentioned above, the reason why I'm "trying" to cut this guy some slack is because, at the time my check should have reached him, Tropical Storm Ernesto slammed into his town in North Carolina. Having been in North Carolina during Hugo, I'm trying to be fair. Those storms can be nasty. But, my patience will be worn thin in about a week's time if I don't have it by then. He used a PO Box in Randleman, NC. So, if it looks like I'm being scammed, I'll simply call up the Postal Inspection Service and file a fraud report. I'd probably never see my money back ... but fraud through the mail is not taken lightly.

That's a good point. Insofar as online shopping goes not counting eBay, I'd rate my experiences Great. But on eBay, I'd rate them Getting worse. I split the difference and voted OKAY in the poll.

The only issues I've had with on-line have had to do with repairs/rma/returns. And not so much the fault of on-line but more the nature of on-line - it's a pain to return.

I'll usually try to find a local shop but often an item is either far too expensive or simply not available.

    No crowds.
Vastly superior ability to compare products from different manufacturers.
No clueless sales staff that can't answer the most basic questions.
The product I want is nearly always in stock (somewhere).
No delays in check out because the idiot ahead of you selected every item that had an unreadable barcode and no pricetag.

  17. Once I got a unique Visa for internet shopping and started fiinding all this stuff nowhere near any local or distant merchants, I've used online buying a lot. Really never had a problem. But also I mostly deal with well known places like Newegg, Rima, Amazon, Furniture online etc...since most buying is Audio/Video related. If I find a merchant like "Tiger Direct" that would not even return an email to clarify a product listing I dont deal with them.
I would have to say I'm extremely satisfied...so far.

No problems so far, I don't buy much online, though. I do love street shopping
