It looks like most of these topics are way over my head, but I thought someone may be able to help me find the right camcorder to fit my needs. I need a camcorder that I can combine three to four clips of video together, easily edit the clips before combining, to make a 1-3 minute videos that I can easily e-mail, you tube, or post to my website. I have used Windows Movie Maker to do this with my Sony camera, but I am really an amateur at it, so would like something very user friendly that is user friendly on the receiving end also as most of the people I send video to are amateurs at viewing video on their computers. I need about twice the zoom of a flip video camera and all my projects are outdoors involving moving horses. The last sony camcorder I had was a DVD and it wouldn't upload to any video editing programs and had the worst editing program that came with it, so I really want to avoid a repeat of that.

Try Canon HV40. You can record in SD and HD. I stay with SD because HD is still in a primative stage and I don't have hours to spend on things that take minutes in SD mode, or the horsepower for HD.
Try Videostudio X3 Pro for editing-not expensive, easy to learn, and good results.
