I have friends in Oz who have just had a child. I want to send them a gift and thought it would be easier to order something from amazon.com and use my credit card...but found that there was no Australia Amazon (At least, I couldn't find it). I'm not to keen on paying for shipping. I'm more interested in a nice trustworthy shop that won't steal my credit card info blah blah blah that will deliver to the doorsteps of my friends.
Any advice?

Hi, There is a a couple of trustworthy places that have gift vouchers.
You could contact a branch near to where your friends live and pay by credit card. Try MYERS or TARGET (same company, cheaper prices).
This is a link to MYERS. http://www.giftcards.com.au/"Whenever I need to "get away,'' I just get away in my mind. I go to my imaginary spot, where the beach is perfect and the water is perfect and the weather is perfect. The only bad thing there are the flies. They're terrible!" Jack Handey -
What kind of something are you looking to buy? I know of several stores, but they all sell certain items (DVDs, or toys, or books, but not all at the same site).

http://dstore.com.au/ is one general outlet. Most of the variety stores have their own online sites as well.
personally, I find that Australian on-line purchasing is as expensive as purchasing from the bricks and mortar stores, and in some cases (especially books) it can be cheaper to buy from Amazon and pay the shipping.Read my blog here.

just use eBay, an Australian seller to keep postage low, and you can use your CC through PayPal.. easy solution, plus you will save a bundle.
