I've been trying to get Microsofts Media Center to work, but realized that it eats all your CPU and memory, so I started searching for a some kind of light media center and ended up with meedio. Unfortunely meedio isn't supportet anymore because they sold it to Yahoo as Yahoo Go which only works inside US, where I'm not living.
All I need a Media Center for is to record and show recorded TV and watch other divx, xvid, avi, whatever files. I hope someone out there know a good Media Center - thanks

I've tried those too but they use too much CPU and memory too:
    Media Portal
    GBPVR

edit: i forgot to say that i've Hauppauge USB2 TV Tuner

  2. I've you tried Nero 7 which can be customized to your needs. You need not to install everything. A good basic product.

  4. Well , There is a good alternative to Windows media center , But im not sure they will not eat your memory as well but in lower amounts i guess :

    1) InterVideo WinDVD Media Center

    2) Star Media Center

    3) CyberLink PowerCinema 4

Im sure there is more but those are some of the best alternative !
