Witch is the best codec’s to use in virtual dub. I need it to convert files that I’ve recorded from my TV card. The files are captured in a large format its about 6000 kb/s I want to get the best quality but I don’t need 2 Gb files I need codec’s that will compress it with minimum lost of quality thanks

    To do what ?

Do you want to watch them just on your PC, or a DVD, or a Divx certified player ?

    Is this for archiving ?

Do you want to edit them in the future ?

There is not best until you know what you want to do with the video. Different codecs satisfy different needs.

if you don't need to filter them, use AutoGK instead and encode with the Xvid codec. AutoGK takes all (well, most) of the guess work out of the setting up.
