    Hmm, ...

Other than HDV and monitoring additions, those are features that make Vegas more compatible with with Sony's upper range broadcast products. More to do with challenging Final Cut Pro and Avid at the medium-high end rather than serving the prosumer's* needs.

    * Prosumer as in conventional DV and HDV equipment used with mainstream PC hardware.

  4. Yeah They really are starting to pact the Software. On a side note I'm happy to see "Random playlist playback".

I was also happy to see the Button Delay in 6,Still would like to see transitions.

If that is all they have, I think the money is better spent on Intel Core 2 hardware this year. Skip the $200 v7 Vegas upgrade and spend it on Intel. I'll probably end up doing both though.

But I'm not going to do both Vegas 7 and Premiere Pro 2. One of them will have to wait 2 years or more while I upgrade hardware. MS Vista is a yet a lower priority.

As a side benefit of the impending release of Vegas 7, B&H Photo in NYC is selling the full version of Vegas 6 for $99.

If they think I'll pay $200 for a v7 upgrade they are crazy.
