    why is everyone suddenly using this mpeg 4 codec all of a sudden? where can i get one from or possibly purchase it? Is there one available in the tools part of this site,i cant view any of my new files.

    Drop one of the new files into Gspot 2.52 and see if it identifies the needed codec. Then see if it's available in 'Tools'.
    Alternately, try VLC Media Player as it can play most formats without having to install codecs.

    One reason is that Google Video asks that the files be in 4; otherwise they recode it, which can take days to weeks.

    Latest version of Quicktime too, it's one of the formats the iPod plays. In fact H.264 is a variant of MPEG4 is it not?
