    I'm new to the burning thing, but think I'm following all the directions correctly...

    Trying to burn an SVCD using Nero 5.5.6.4 I receive a message about purchasing an MPEG2 coder. I already have it installed. Do I need to use Nero's? Can seem to find mention of this in the help files. It is the same result whether I use movie.avi or movie.mpg

    VCDs seem to burn OK.

    Any ideas?

    You need the plug in for NERO to do SVCD's. I'll PM you my ICQ# and i'll send it to ya.

    you dont need the plugin if you have encoded the video to mpg svcd with for example tmpgenc.
