  1. Hi! Iam about to encode a XivD avi file in TMPGEnc. I see the XviD codec but i only got a sucky MP3 codec that encodes 56kbps, Iam sure that you understand what i mean. I have lame_enc.dll in my system32 dir, but it wont show up. I wont encode in PCM. Brrrr!

I've never used TMPGEnc to encode to other formats than mpeg1/2 - VirtualDub is mostly used for this task around here.
This is needed for VirtualDub to use Lame - maybe the same applies to TMPGEnc?

You need to install LAME or you just get the built-in version that M$ threw into XP, with it's limited bitrate.

Probably because the source file audio is in a format TMPGEnc don't understand.
Convert it to wav, and use the wav as audio source when encoding.
Easiest way is to load the source in Goldwave, save as wav.

At this point, it'd help if you came out and told us what you have (source file) and what you intend to do with it (target format)

Like I said, the audio in the AVI is probably in a format TMPGEnc can't read.
Still no clue as to what your target format is tho, just that you want hard subs...

Look, i demuxed the audio from the avi file (wav), and I used that instead of the source audio. Then I use Lame MP3 som encode it. So, TMPGEnc is not reading the source audio. But I still dont got any sound in output. You said that i could do it that way, I´ve done that. Still no sound.

If you aren't doing any framerate change you could add back the audio from the original to the new encoded with virtualdubmod, streams->stream list.

Or add the subs and reencode with virtualdubmod, https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=272736

Does the wav have sound after being demuxed out of the AVI?
For the 3rd time what is your target format?
