    Hi Guys,

FAB took 2 1/2 days to rip just one disc, and shrink still wont read the output from my HDD, spitting out some error message with regard to one of the VOB files.

Has anyone else found the same issue, and if so, how did you get around it? I'm using the most up to date version of FAB, so I'm thinking that this may be a new form or copy protection. I wouldn't have thought companies would still be bothering with all that with the new HD formats just around the corner.

Stop using the sledge hammer approach of DVD Fab Decrypter, and try using the more subtle approach of ripit4me.

I have also noticed a trend toward cheaply pressed discs being sold here in Australia that seem to have any number of authoring and manufacturing errors. These include badly encoded AC3 audio on X-Files and Warner Bros discs, and pressing errors on Paramount material.

    Thanks Sl1nger,

I'll give it a try - sounds like it should do the trick. I suspected the same issues with the cheap discs, however it's hard to tell what you've got just by looking at it. Some of the discs aren't even recognised by my drive when I insert them, and then others are picked up straight away. I figured that if one disc had the protection then they all would - so suspected it may be the actual disc and not the protection as such.

Haven't backed any discs up in a while, so was unaware of this app. Thanks for the heads up...
