So know that I have joined the sacred halls of VCDhelp, I was wondering if anyone has a little program to do batches of video conversions under TMPGenc? I have a ton of Family Guy episodes that I would converted to VCD but don't want to have to manually start each conversion--Any help for the uneducated plebe would be appreciated

  2. Isn't there a batch encode option under the file menu? Give that a lookie.

  3. Here's what you need to do for TMPGEnc Batch Encoding

    1. Load the appropriate TMPGEnc template.
    2. Select the Video/Audio files as usual.
    3. Select the output file name as usual.
    4. Hit "cntrl-s" to save this as a project. You'll
be asked for a filename when you do this. This
is a .tpr file you will create.

Do this for *each and all* of your selections
so that you will have a bunch of .tpr files saved; one
    for each selection.

Next hit "cntrl-b" to bring up the batch-encoding
dialogue box. Click "Add Job" and select all of your
.tpr files. They will show up in the window when
    you've made your selection.

Next hit "Start" - that will start the batch job.
TMPGEnc will encode all of the files in batch mode.

Hope this makes sense, I know it is not intuitive,
I had to figure this out for myself and am happy
I can explain to someone else....

    Thanks,
    vcddude

PS This question comes up a lot, maybe it should be added to the TMPGEnc How-To sections?

  4. Will this also split the MPEG to fit 2 CD? In other words when I load the Video and Audio that was generated by DVD2AVI is there any way in this batch process to tell it to split to two or even three files for burning? This would save a lot of time. Many thanks in advance

    Bud,
You do the same batch process described and set the range of the encoding using Setting-> Advanced-> Source Range (double-click). A number of users don't realize that "Source Range" exists. Just give your two output files different names so that the second doesn't write over the first.

  6. Thanks for the quick response, I have used the Source Range for cutting and encoding but did not know about the batch method, that will work great, again many thanks......
