Do you mean 'burned' CDs or RW CDs? RW CDs may have problems with some players due to their lower reflectivity. (At least that is what I have heard.) Some older vehicle players may not work on any burned CDs, just commercial pressed CDs.
Or you may be lucky and it may be the burning method or software, or the brand of CD itself.
This site might have some useful info on car CD changers: http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/41.html -
Most older CD players will not play CD-RW's at all, and some will have trouble with CD-R too.
You can try CD-R discs. There are several software applications that will burn audio CD's. Just make sure you are burning an *audio* disc and not a *data* disc.
