I use cucusoft pro 7 first time trying to convert and burn a 1.37GB avi file when i add file i have 2 add 2 files which says Disk 1 699MB and Disk 2 696MB movie will then burn it to my DVD_R 4.7GB disk i end up using 2 disks the second disk has the very last bit of the movie which is a waste of the DVD-R disk, i need help with what do i need 2 put the movie on a 4.7GB DVD-R disk, i have actually converted it to a 1.39GB MPEG file to but have had numerous people say to use different programs i'm confused, i have no problem converting and burning files 700MB or smaller they all work, but am having problems with this 1.37GB avi file i don't want to use larger DVD-r disk and i don't want to waste anymore disks and would like some help with the right program to do this for me.
    I have - LG Multi 16x DVD/CD Rewriter
    - Use Cucusoft AVI/MPEG to DVD/VCD/SVCD/MPEG converter/burner (pro version)v7.07
    - I use DVD-R 4.7GB disks I prefer TDK BUT also us verbatim.
Is there anyone that can help me! much appreciated! :?

The best thing to do is to use a bitrate calculator and set your bitrate before you encode to make the proper size output file. I'm not familiar with the Cucusoft program, and I don't know if you can set the bitrate with it. But if it displays the bitrate it will be using to encode, you may at least be able to tell what the size will be before you encode, and try to make some adjustments.

In the case of this particular file, when it's just a small bit over, run it through DVD Shrink to make it fit before you burn, that will probably be the easiest method.

And you might think about using a standalone encoder instead of a all-in-one converter as you will have more control over the finished product, including the size.

    And welcome to our forums.

Also, there are lots of info and guides on converting AVI files to Video DVD here at VideoHelp. It's not so much a matter of finding the right program, as knowing what (and how) to do.
