hi. i'm using a standard dv tape with camcorder. i'm connected to laptop with firewire and imovie says camera is connected. when i hit play it says camera is playing but the screen remains blue. the tape plays fine on the camcorder even when connected to my laptop but there's no picture in imovie??? it's worked fine before and now just decided not to play it. i don't know where to start looking to sort it out. help appreciated.

    quit iMovie.
    Trash the following Prefs:
    com.apple.iMovie.plist
    com.apple.Quicktime.plist
    relaunch iMovie.

known bug with iMovie, where the prefs get corrupted,
and iMovie cannot use Quicktime FW controller to "talk" to your device.
