ALL of my Converters are crashing??

Is there some reason that every single one of my conversion tools are crashing when I have tried different files to make sure it wasnt that, I tried diff conversions to make sure it wasnt just cuz I was trying to do say an Xvid to DVD, so I teied a reg Avi to Mpeg but still no good and I crashed.

I tried over 5 diff tools all well respected tools so I know this is going to hopefully be something simple but I dont know what it is offhand. I did add a new patch to SP2 but would that do it? I was thinking something like a major Codec problem or something?/ I dunno and so I come to the experts here cuz U guys are the best and I mean that.....

Thats how long a jerk like me was able to burn and copy without having to return to ask a Q from what I learn here when I first sytarted coming around and if I can do this anyone can, really! lol

So, anyone know why everything is giving me those "Win-Avi has encountered an error and must close" and the same with Nero and VSO and Xilisoft and Cucusoft its just nuts!!!

If you are running XP, try a restore to a date before you had the problems.

Sounds like your direct show filters/codecs are screwed. Installed any codec packs?
