Here is my situation.I have a pc that can support up to 2gb of memory.Right now i have only 1 stick of memory that is 512mb of ram in my pc,i have another stick that is 512mb of ram, note:my pc can support 2gb.My situation is that when i have both memory sticks in my computer,it adds up to 1024gb of ram,my problem is that when i have both in my pc,my pc continously restarts. When i have only 1 stick in its fine.Is there something that i am doing wrong when installing the second stick or what.

The sticks are also a differirent brand...
    1 is kingston,
the other 1 i cant remember,
The kingston memory stick is the brand new one that i just brought, the stick is fine when i have it installed only, for example,i can have the new stick in by itself, its fine. Its when i have both of them installed that my pc restarts.
ANOTHER NOTE: I have my old stick currently installed.

If any one can give me tips on installing the second 1 or can give me a program of some sort,i will very greatful.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. You seem to have determined that those two sticks will not work together in your particular PC. This is quite common, and there is no fix for this.

Try a different order, try different slots, that is all you can do. If your memory is overclocked or in any way not set standard in BIOS, that could do it.

  3. Had the same problem here, and had to just buy a 1 Gig stick and use only it.

That's why I would buy 2x1GB sticks. Even if I don't need both right now, they are at least guaranteed to match if I need them both later. And buying matched pairs means I can use them in dual channel mode on my next PC.
