I recorded a dvd-vr,i then demux audio video and muxed into an .mpg.
I then opened it with vdub mpeg-2,cut commercials but couldn't save as an avi file. How can i now save it as an mpeg using direct stream copy mode?I don't want it reencoded, just want to save the mpeg without commercials so that i can now encode it to an xvid via AutoGK,so what now?

Virtualdub (and it's variants) only support writing to AVI container files.
If you're starting with an MPEG1 or MPEG2 file, and you don't want to re-encode. Virtualdub isn't the app you should be using, because at that point ANY AVI file would be the result of re-encoding.
Use Womble, PVAStrumento, Cuttermaran, etc.
"Direct Stream Copy" mode concerns streams inside an AVI, so it would have to be FROM an avi and going TO an avi of the same codec.

"Womble" is better known as MPEG-VCR, which is why the name "Womble" isn't showing up in red letters like Cuttermaran.

So i can't do anything with vdub?I like it cause i can remove segments easier than anything i've tried so far.Plus i spent several minutes removing commercials from a 2 hour file,so i really need to finish this project using vdub.
If vdub acts as a frameserver, isn't there any frameclient available to directly stream copy the file into an mpeg-2?
