  1. just bought a lap top and done away with my pc. i have a dvd-r movie file packed with winrar, when its about 90% unpacked it says "write error only NTFS file system supports files larger than 4GB. i have no clue what that means it always worked fine on my pc

  2. Your hard disk is formatted in FAT 32.

    COnvert your partition to NTFS with "CONVERT C:/FS:NTFS". Run this command in a Command prompt.

    PS: If your laptop has an hidden partition for automatic restore, this one may be destroyed by convert.

  4. Volume label refers to what the hard drive is called. In most computers it is called Local Disk - Then you have drive letters.

    Type "dir" at a command prompt. The first line should tell you the volume label for that drive (followed by the volume serial number and then the file listing).

    You should just be able to hit the Enter button, which sets the volume label to (none).

    You might like to try googling any error messages you get - chances are someone else in the world has experienced it before
    If in doubt, Google it.
