  1. Hello all,
I've a question that I'm sure must be answerable. I use either AVI_IO or Virtualdub to capture and lately I have been wanting to do something that I can't find a way to do. If I want to capture a two hour block of time in the morning, and then another two hour block in the evening all on AVI_IO's timer, how can this be done? In my experience it captures the first show and then when it starts to record the second time block it gives a pop-up asking for permission to overwrite the original capture.avi file. Does VDStartPro's renaming function provide a get around for this problem? I didn't see any mention of this on their website...help!

  3. I don't have the program here at work with me... but in the options, there's a way to set "assign session numbers"... so if you set the name to be "capture", the first will be called capture1 and the second will be called capture2.

Problem is... if you close AVI_IO and then reopen it... it'll reset the number. So you have to rename the files (or just put the files in a different folder), because it'll try to capture until capture1 again.

Check in the preferences, and don't forget to save your settings once you check it, so that it doesn't uncheck that box after you close the program.

If you still can't find it, do a search of AVI_IO from posts by me mikewg and you'll find the post where I asked the same thing months again.

    Good luck!
