Hopefully this will stay out of the Mods sights, it's borderline due to the site but it's too funny not to share. I have a Women's Republican website hotlinking to a flag on my site.... so being the nice guy I am I replaced it with something a little more appropriate..... See the very bottom, ironically in the copyright notice.

The small flags in the main content are badly resized images from my source as well. Guess they just forgot to change the source code for the one on the bottom. Generally i serve a transparent gif that is 32000px wide which works great for hotlinked images that have no size attributes in the code. They forgot about it because it wasn't visible.... image is visible now tho..

I already sent them a nastygram... probably should have seen how long it would have lasted. Uless someone alerted them to it could have possibly been there quite a while since there brower would be just pulling the other image from the cache on their comp.

Its still there but there's something wrong with their coding for the site. The footer is halfway up the page which puts the image with the text.

Somebody I knew had his images hotlinked on eBay auctions. One day he went and replaced all of the hotlinked images with goatse and tubgirl and others.

Several eBay sellers were suspended later that day.

No it's done through htaccess which gives the server directions. It sends out whatever file I tell it too depending on the referrer. If you paste the URL directly into a browser it will give the correct image. Referrals for that image coming from a webpage that is not on the allowed sites lists on the other hand get the replacement. Just as another example if you pasted it here it would work correctly since videohelp.com is an allowed referrer... I'm assuming your pasting the URL in paint?

Wonder how long before they notice, I did mention it in the e-mail I sent them so I have no idea how they could have missed it. As I mentioned above the person making the page is probably testing it in their browser and since they have the old image cached the new one won't show up unless they clear the cache or refresh the page.

Guess I'll have to get a little more creative.
