I was browsing through Source Forge the other day, and I noticed they have about 75 video editing programs. I've also heard ZS4 is good (but I can't get it to work with XP and SP2). Are any of these free programs good?

many of them are vapourware or dead. Some are great for simple edit jobs - virtualdub counts as an editor, others are frontends to avisynth. I haven't seen any good multi-track editors, mostly just trimmers. I guess it depends on your needs. Have a look at Jahshaka if ZS4 tweaked your interest.
