  1. Ok, i've read for an hour or so trying to figure out how to do this exactly. I've got a close idea, I think. But would like any clarification.

I have created a very short little film(8 mins 14secs) w/ my own music in the background. I have succesfully created it as mpeg2 which runs on one of our dvd players and all the PCs, but not all dvd players. I have tried just dragging and dropping and writing it to a cd-r. It works on only PCs that way. So then I burned as VCD using Nero. When i did that it would work on one of our dvd players and not on 5 others I tried.

So i'm thinking if I could burn this as a dvd it could play on any dvd player...?

So I need a program to turn the Mpeg2 into .vob files, right? Which from what I read TDA is the program to use? Can I just open the finished mpeg2(audio and all) in TDA and have it automatically create the .vob files? If so, do I have to set up menus, or can it just auto-run?

Here are the specs for the video I have created:

    Stream Type: MPEG-2 Video
    Size: 320x240
    Aspect Ratio 1:1(VGA)
    Frame Rate: 30fps
    Rate Control Mode: Constant Bitrate(CBR)
    Bitrate: 1150
    Video Format: NTSC
    Encode Mode: Non-interlace
    YUV format: 4:2:0
    DC Component Precision: 8 bits
    Motion search precision: normal

I have been reading this link here,
    http://dvd-hq.info/Compression.html

which seems to be the way to go, I guess. It gets techincal and i'm not sure if it all would work w/ my home created 320x240 videos...

The main goal here is to get it playable on virtually any dvd player...Would appreciate any and all help!

you don't need any menus. but you need to convert to dvd standard, see www.videohelp.com/dvd , mainly change the size to 352x240 and then add the mpeg2 in tda.

  4. Changed vids to 352x240, used TDA, put in menus too, worked perfectly. I love TDA, great program.
