Makin' a montage from a DVD

Hi guys

Hoping I can get some advise from more knowledgable heads.

I want to extract some short clips from a DVD, put them together as a montage and add some music over the top of them (leaving out the original soundtrack).

Can someone suggest the best/easiest way do to this?

If you have Adobe Premiere (or can get it) check out the montage tutorial here: http://www.wrigleyvideo.com/videotutorial/tut_premiere60.htm

If you are familar with VirtualdubMod you can append each file, disable all of the audio streams and add the one(s) you want to use in the montage.
