Double posting isn't going to help your situation.

To your left is a menu. Look at the section marked How To, and you will find a section marked DVD Backup. Here you will find guides to do what you are asking to do.

  7. And that's why you're supposed to read up before posting with a question that could have been easily answered with 5 minutes in the How To section. Why should we do the heavy lifting for you if you don't even care enough to do your homework? There's nothing wrong with being ignorant. We all were at one time. There's a lot wrong with being stupid. No, you were the rude one by not following even the basic rules of a tech forum like this one. And then people wonder why Doom9 has you wait 5 days after registering before you're allowed to post. They could do with the same rule here.
Please try to do some basic research before posting.
Most fundamental questions are answered on the How To's on this site.

Guns1inger is a valued and respected advisor on this site. You will not make friends or find eager helpers by slamming him. Whoever taught you manners failed miserably.

You caught me on a bad day - anyone who has ever had to do a partial restore of a 2003 server AD can attest to it not being a fun exercise. If one more person had asked me if it was fixed yet, it would not have been pretty.

So far you have been offered :

DVD Shrink - probably the simplest solution to your problem that exists

and a whole library of guides that cover dozens of different approaches to solving your problem.

You can also search the Tools section by conversion type. Choosing DVD -> DVD will list other programs to do what you need. My personal favourite is DVD Rebuilder with HCEnc.

    Good answer.

May be the guy had a bad day too, but calling names is not very polite, specially on forum.

If one hour is enough to learn what you know nothing about.....good luck.

xstatictravis is exactly the reason why places like Videohelp (or cdfreaks, etc) get a bad rap. It's these people unwilling to do a little leg work to solve their problem (which is hardly any work at all). It's "me, me, me" and **** everyone else, even if they're helping, because I have got to copy this latest release right now! (the Tuesday/Wednesday posts make it a little more than obvious).

guns1inger, you should apologize for apologizing

I think this is true. And the result is that you see the same posts time after time, asking the same question. Therefore, the same topics come up, with the same answers, time after time. This creates a bit of a drag on the overall forum, so more advanced questions rarely get addressed. We get kind of stuck in the 'beginner' question mode, and many forum members find themselves gravitating to other forums for more in-depth issues. So, if many posters don't bother to do some initial legwork to refine their questions, and no one here calls them on it, we all enable this to continue.
