I've got a file that I want to burn to a dvd. It says its a movie file (mpeg). The problem is that Nero won't show the audio when it burns it. Dvdsanta will burn it but the audio is out of sync with the video. Is there anything that will successfully covert this file? Please any help is appreciated. Avi codec gives the follwoing in formation:
File : 2.53 GB (2.53 GB), duration: 2:48:10, type: MPG, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 69 %
Video : 2.30 GB, 1953 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 320*240 (4:3), MPG1 = MPEG 1 (VCD), Supported
Audio : 230 MB, 192 Kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 channels, 0x51 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 [0xc0], Supported

I see several problems. It's apparently a PAL MPEG-1 video, so the framerate will have to converted from 25fps to a NTSC framerate. But the frame size is odd. 320 X 240 is closer to a NTSC size of 352 x 240. PAL would be 352 x 288 for VCD framesize. The audio will also have to be converted to a DVD sample rate of 48Khz from 44.1khz VCD standard.
I would first try ConvertXToDVD or the older freeware version DivxToDVD. It may be able to handle all those conversions without too much quality loss.
PAL to NTSC is not a simple conversion to achieve the best quality. Here's a link to some guides to do it using better methods than DivxToDVD: https://www.videohelp.com/convert#4;41 -
Before conversion of the video, I would try if my DVDPlayer can handle such a type of video file. What I would do?. Firstly I would demultiplex the mpeg to video and audio files with TMPGEnc Mpeg Tools. Then I would load the mp2 audio file in besweet (Gui) and output as new mp2 the same bitrate, but 48000 Hz.
Now I would load the video file and the new audio file in an authoring program which support non-standart resolutions, GFD for example. It will output AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders with appropriate DVD file structure inside. Then I would make an iso image with ImgTool Classic. Then I would burn it to DVD +-RW with ImgBurn and try to play.
If it doesn't work I would try to reencode the video to appropriate resolution.
