I published a vista movie maker file into an .avi file. The quality is excellant. I then used WinAvi Converter (the free trial version) to convert to a vcd file. The picture quality is blurry. Is there a setting I should be looking at changing?

I am a novice at this

  2. VCD has a resolution of only 352x240. It will be blurry compared to a 720x480 DV AVI (or similar) file. WinAVI probably also did a blend deinterlace which would have made high action scenes look blurry or like double exposures if your source was interlaced.

  4. MPEG 2 with a frame size of 720x480 and DVD compatible settings. If your video is interlaced leave it interlaced. Do not deinterlace.

do I have to do anything with these settings:
    23.976 fps-NTSC Film Rate or
24 fps Standard Film Rate or
    29.97 fps-NTSC Rate

For tv viewing use the last setting. If you're leaving it on the computer any will work. But settop dvd uses the 29.97 rate.
