Ok, so I used http://videogglred.orgfree.com/ to download a google video I wanted to use in AVI format. It downloaded fine, but when I went to open it with winamp it just sat there and wouldn't play. I tried opening it in Premiere Pro since I was planning on editing it anyway and it worked, but when I previewed it the video quality was poor. Every time the video changed from one clip to another it got very pixelated. Why is it doing this and is there any way to fix it/redownload it correctly? Thanks.

Oh, I forgot to mention. When I play it in Premiere Pro, there is no audio. Am I missing some codec or something?

Ok, I've got some more info....that actually looks helpful to me. I tried opening the file in Ulead DVD Workshop and it said:
    "Unable to play the file.

There is no common media type between these pins.
    [17106:3:4]"

    Thanks again!

Use GSpot (the latest beta version, 2.52), AVI2Clipboard, or other similar tools to display more information on the AVI, and post the information here, so that someone might be better able to help.

(Note: Leave out the path and filenames if you prefer (or blank them out in a screenshot).)

If you choose the dowload to computer format (not the PSP or iPod formats) I beleive Google uses their own video type format, unless they've changed it since the last time I download a video from Google Video.

I have downloaded google video with the player application and converted them to DVD. The .gvi files are seen as Divx6 in Virtualdubmod, and ConvertXtoDVD quite happily convetrs them to DVD format.
