I used TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6. I authored and created a DVD folder with my .VOB video files then burned onto a DVD-R 4.7 120min. When trying to play it in my Sony DVD player it does not work, same with my PlayStation 2. Is there something I need to do? or not do? What do i need to do?! Ha

    Thanks, Tim

  2. Does TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 support your DVD Writer? It doesn't support them all and it's an old version of the program.Version 2 might support your DVD Writer.

Does your DVD Player like DVD-R? Most do,as its a very compatible format. You could try a DVD+R and change the booktype to DVD-ROM,that's if your writer supports this.

Alternatively you could convert your DVD Video Files to an Image file (ISO/UDF) with ImgTool Classic and use IMGBurn to burn to DVD-R.This works for most people AFAIK.

Lastly do you have good media eg Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim (MCC) media? Crap media is usually the cause for playback problems and there is a LOT of crap media about.I find burning the media at half its certified speed best eg 8x media burn at 4x ect...

Try this and get back to us if you encounter the same problem.
