I downloaded a quicktime file from another pc in order to import it into Premiere Pro and do some editing but i can't import it and i can't make it play in the quicktime player. the video is playing alright in the other pc but not in my pc! i have the same version of quicktime player in both machines. quicktime says "couldn't open the file because it is not a file that quicktime understands" and Premiere "the importer reported a generic error". any ideas?

    Thanks

Sounds like a codec issue. The other pc most likely has the needed codec. You could try opening the file in Gspot.

I already opened the file in Gspot and there are no codecs missing. I think this is a transferring problem and it may have nothing to do with video or audio problems.

What is the 'Quicktime file,' exactly? A .MOV, .MP4? GSpot only supports .AVI and .MPG, I believe, and probably won't help much with 'true' Quicktime formats such as MOV.
