I have some DVDs that are partially recorded - but not finalized - by a LiteOn desktop DVD recorder (the reason being that I want to add more material later). Now in case the LiteOn broke, I wouldn't be able to play these DVDs on any other DVD player.
Is there a way to finalize these DVDs on any internal computer DVD writer? Right now the DVDs are not recognized by VLC, Nero, DVDShrink, or other programs I tried them with. Thanks, tac7

I don't think it is possible, you can extract the data with isobuster

Can't you just buy another of the same model LiteOn recorder if yours broke?
There isn't any known way to play or finalize an unfinalized Video Mode disc on a computer drive.
The only other solution would be to record your DVD's in VR Mode. Unfinalized VR mode discs can be read on computer drives with certain apps, but VR Mode is not compatible with most DVD players (you'd have to re-author the DVD to Video Mode).
