  1. Well first off what I did was close the wizard, load the dvd template, make some changes, mainly the motion search precision from FAST to Highest Quality ( Slow ), then save the template and set it as default, then I load the wizard again and dont see my saved template so I figured it must be under 1 of the 1s thats already there so I check all of them but when I load a file and check its properties, all of them has motion search precision as fast and not the one that I've made. What do I do ?

    Have you saved your mcf template to a different location?

    p.s. you will gain nothing in quality by using the highest quality motion estimate - see Lordsmurf's guide on setting up TMPGEnc.

    IMO the best way to mess up with Tmpgenc templates is opening it with Notepad. Will look like this
    MPEG.Video.DisplayHeight = 0
    MPEG.Video.DisplayHeight_ReadOnly = False
    MPEG.Video.MotionSearchSpeed = MPEGVideoEncoder_MotionSearchSpeed_Slow
    MPEG.Video.MotionSearch_AlwaysHalfPel = True
    MPEG.Video.UseFloatDCT = False

    Make changes and when you're done, save with the name you want. It's not very funny, though. But you have control over all the settings.

    Well my original source has good motion movements so no pixels, I converted it to 720x480 b4 and there were pixels during fast movement scenes then i converted to 350*480 and it was less visible and it was done under the fast motion estimate thing so I'm going to give it a try on HQ and see what happens

    I changed the MPEG.Video.MotionSearchSpeed = MPEGVideoEncoder_MotionSearchSpeed_Slow to MPEG.Video.MotionSearchSpeed = MPEGVideoEncoder_MotionSearchSpeed_HIGHCQ. But it still shows as fast when I check under expert when I use the wizard.

    You're changing too many variables in one go.

    What is the original resolution and framerate?

    What resolution are you converting to, if at all?

    What bit-rates are you using?

  6. Well I dont know what the original resolution is because its rmvb but framerate is 25fps. Now before you guys start saying rmvb is bad, this is from dvd to rmvb at 250mb per ep which is 43 mins so its clear. Altho I'm not sure what the original res is I'm sure is bigger then what I'm encoding to ( 352*480 ) so shrinking it shouldn't be a prob. My bit-rate is about 2200.

    Import the file into virtual dub and check the file information.
