I have Panasonic DMR-E60 and DMR-HS2 recorders and find that Panasonic are no longer manufacturing DVD-RAM 4.7 GB disks for the version 2.0 system. They now only make for version 2.1 which I am informed is not compatible with these machines. Can someone suggest which other makes of this type of disk that are compatible with the 2.0 system? Many sites don't give you enough information. Anyone know where there may be still supplies of the Panasonic version?

I'm not sure what the difference is between version 2.0 and 2.1 (I would assume it's the 3x speed rating). You might try the Fuji RAM discs at Best Buy (they might be 2.0 but I have no idea since the box hardly says anything except that they're made in Japan).
I see Best Buy has just raised the prices on RAM media (they used to sell 5-packs for $10, now they're up to $12-13).

I am not sure exactly what you mean by version 2 and 2.1. I have a DMR-E50 and it works with the old 1X discs as well as the 2X-3X and the 2X -5X. Is it possible you have bad information? Mine is the same generation as yours.
They do have a firmware update. Possibly that will help:

Also, he is in the UK so Best buy is not a source. For any other users, Panasonic direct is the lowest price anywhere in the US. I get 15 3X RAM for $18 delivered.Still a few bugs in the system... -
As you're in the UK, have you looked at SVP ?

I don't know if any of these would be suitable, but if it's not immediately apparent then drop them a line - SVP are very helpful. -
Thanks all for your input. I will look into all the suggestions and let you know how I get on in the next few days. The info about non compatibilty came from my local Panasonic shop I went into yesterday

Panasonic is clueless about compatibility, don't pay much attention to them. They told me DVD-R discs recorded on my E-20 wouldn't play on my E-10 or A-120, they work fine on both.

After getting nowhere from Panasonic support I got some DVD-Ram 2-3 times disks and they work fine 8) I understand that pp at the end of the model number is to do with region coding. As it is not clear if the US updates are compatible with the UK models I have not updated them.
