I wanna ask a question about memoriesontv. This software freezes on my PC while making mpeg file. When I choose a different option: Generate mpeg elem - memoriesontv freezes while making sound file .
I have a similar problem with TMPGENC 2.5 - it freezes the whole system while making mpeg file (not always).
What is the cause of that? I formatted my HD, installed Windows Xp Pro and still I can not get rid of that problem .

Sounds like it might be an overheating problem if the whole PC locks up. Try taking the case off the PC and checking for dust on the CPU or glogging the fans. Install MotherBoard Monitor and watch the temperature readings. Leave the cover off, aim a standard desk fan into the guts, and run an encode. If it doesn't freeze, go a buy a decent cooling system.

I’ll try to remove some dust of my heat sink - I put Vantec Aeroflow on my CPU (should be good enough for AMD 2200).
But it looked to me that there’s some sound problem - why does it freeze by making sound file? The same with TMPGEnc - I make video+sound. I know some people are complaining about TMPGEnc sound but I never had problems till now.

It seems odd that it would be software related given you have reformatted and reinstalled, unless you have reinstalled something that is broken. You don't have afavourite codec pack that put on soon after an install, do you ?

The only other possible issue could be sound drivers, but again it is unlikely as they are not used during the encoding process. My money is still on heat at this stage.

Guns1inger. You were right. Indeed it was a heat problem - I left cover off, cleaned fan and I was able to finalize my project. Thanks for your advice.
