    What is the Main difference between a DVD Editor and a DVD Author , Like for example DVDREmake Editor V6.0 and TMPGENc DVD Author or DVDLAB Pro or Tsunami MPEQ DVD Author?
    Trying to grapple with all the terminologies right now. Thabks

    Well.... the names pretty much imply what they do. A editor is for editing a video file. Once you're done editing you export your video file and use authoring software to create your chapters and menus ....

    Note that some software can do both. DVD Workshop for example which is primarily for authoring DVD's can also do minor editing but in no way compares to a full blown editor.

    The other distinction is between software designed to create a DVD from stratch (authoring), and software used to alter an existing DVD 9editing). There is some cross-over between some of the software (IFOedit can be used to do both, for instance), but usually a piece software excels at one or the other (or neither)
