  1. Hello!
is anyone doing batch encoding? I've been using instantcopyhiddensettings to do batch, but I was wondering what else was out there.

    thanks!

I assume you're talking about batch DVD Backing up ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

I dont call it batch ... I call it "freakin nightmare" ..

Avi2dvd by Trustfm has batch encoding , plus more ... only got it today and giving all the feature's a spin .
Has avi , ogm , mkv and wmv batch encoding ... more than enough to poke a stick at , and dvd input .
    Ntsc to pal , pal to ntsc , 16:9 or 4:3 , ac3 , auto chapter or list , output dvd , svcd , vcd ... encode using quenc , freeEnc , nuenc , hcenc , cee .
    Multiple audio , sub's ... and a menu designer ...

I might be here for some time yet ... quenc in dualpass mode ... still waiting to see if this program make's a stuff up with final output .

    Nope , I still prefer dvdauthorgui ...

As for batch file's used for encoding ...

    1: Still's to m2v
    2: Wav to ac3
    3: Mpeg1 demuxing (also muxing)
    4: Multiple iso generator
5: Avi to m2v (352x288 , pal) using bbmpeg as encoder of choice
    Many more .

Then there are automation script's to call and run other program's to perform job's while I am away from the pc for a couple of hour's .
Batch encoding dvd's to mpeg4 (several on hd ready to go)... These are generated using autoit ... good for batch rm media conversion's via avisynth script .

Super also dose batch encoding , handy for mov's , and other format's ... can help with stubborn file's that refuse to be re-encode using other converter's .

  4. If you mean encoding to Mpeg2 for DVD for example I use TMPGEnc 3 Xpress which has a batch tool. It can also do the other way to AVI for example. Or I use TMPGEnc Plus which has batch function too.

That is encoding, What I suspect you mean is shrinking multiple DVDs to DVD5 size. To me although it can be done by encoding at a lower bitrate, to me that is shrinking and turning for example DV video into dvd authorable (or Divx/Xvid) is encoding.
