In a previous thread I said I was having some problems recovering data from a scratched DVD that I wanted to back up. I've been working with ISO Buster to see if I can salvage anything from the disc.
As it stands I have a 858kb .tao file which was extracted over 30 hours from the 8GB of data on the DVD. To me, and others this seems like there may be a problem with the file, as surely 8GB is'nt compacted onto the 858kb file, is it? Below is a screen shot of the contents of the .tao file on ISO Buster, will it be possible for me to create a back up disc from this? If so, how?
Any help appreciated.

Not really helping your problem, but look on Majorgeeks.com. I saw them list a program that will copy dead DVD's and CD's by retrying a LOT of times, says so. I don't recall the exact name.

i'd start over. wash disc with warm water and dish soap, then try polishing it with toothpaste. rewash/dry with lint free cotton cloth. open it with isobuster, highlight everything in the right pane, right click select extract and point it to an empty folder on your hardrive.
try it in both of your dvd drives.--
