  1. I've got some Macromedia Flash cartoons i want to put into AVI or MPG. I know it will take up more space but it would be worth it.

Does anoyone know of any programs that will do this conversion and where i can get it from??

Check out a program called swf2video, worked OK for me (I did a short cartoon for a co-worker).

It uses any CODEC you have installed, so AVI/MPG should be no problem. I would suggest uncompressed AVI and then use TMPEGenc to get in into VCD/SVCD compliant format.

Only warning I can give is I seem to remember an audio/video sync problem. I fixed it, but I don't remember how (but it can be done).

Unfortuantely I don't remember wher I found it, and have since deleted it (one time need, no real purpose to keep it) otherwise I would e-mail it to you.

Do some searches and I'm sure you will find it pretty quick.

Well, I dug it up off the web again and trid it.

I saved it as an AVI, Uncompressed (Full Frame), and selected "Frame by Frame" instead of "Normal" in the conversion options.

It saved a huge 400+MB file for a 400KB SWF file, but I could open the AVI in Media player with no problem (it had no sound, but that was a whole different problem).

Not sure what else I can tell you since I have had no problems and minimal experience. The only thing I can think of is - How big is the saved AVI? I know Windows and most apps don't like AVI's over 2GB...

...can it handle a converted-to-exe Flash movie? I have tons I've saved, but I converted them all to .exe's (so they can be played stand-alone).

Still looking for this file. Sounds interesting.
