    Hi, recently when i try encoding from AVi to mpeg2, i'm getting this problem

    "Invalid sample format (error code 0x80048002)"

    that's the literal error msg problem, i read in this forum that someone suggested using AVI synth, but i can't get it to solve this problem... other solutions involve TMPGEnc 2.5 Plus which i don't have..

    is there any other solution to this? or should i go looking for another encoder?

    If i do go looking for another encoder, could someone recommend me a more stable yet not too simple encoder? (i want to be able to fix my own bitrate)

    thx in advance

    hi, thx for the quick reply

    video: xvid
    audio: ac3 (0x2000) Dolby Laboratories, Inc

    using Gspot to detect them..

    i can encode into ac3.. but does that mean by default i can read ac3 files?

    I believe that disabling audio in Xpress and processing only the video will solve this. You can work the audio separately, for instance demuxing it with VirtualDubMod as AC3, and later use this AC3 as audio source into your authoring app.
