  1. Hi,


    I am trying to convert a Xvid .avi to DVD and everytime i try to do that WinAVI "encounters a problem and has to close, sorry for any inconvenience" is there any other alternative to convert this file from avi to DVD?

    Yep many alternatives.

    Tmpgenc is what I use to convert divx to mpeg2. Very good and plenty of options. It also has a wizard to make it a little simpler to use. Just check video encoders in the tools link above and you'll find a large list of alternatives to winavi.

  3. I am starting to think that maybe something is wrong with the file
    because all of the programs i have used they all "encounter a problem and need to close"

    Try opening it in virtualdub and do a scan for errors. I think its in the file drop down menu.

    Maybe you need do some file replace.You can email to [email]support@/tools?tool=WinAVI_Video_Converter]winavi, and get them.
    Or can upgrade.
