Whenever I have a DVD that DVDShrink won't rip I can
usually use DVDDecrypter, and then burn the backup to a DVD.

The boy said, "Dad, I'm over here."

Just by reading the error message it points out what is causing it. At least potentially. What is the region of this disc and what is the title of the disc you're trying to back up? There might be a solution already posted if you provide that. Also have you tried another tool like DVDFabDecrypter?

  4. Hi,
I think you're a little bit behind with your version of AnyDVD.I think the latest version is 5.9.6.0.
Try downloading the most current version and see if it solves your issue.
All updates are free for all buyers of AnyDVD.
    Good Luck.

i could of swore i read somewhere here in a tutorial or forum post that if the dvd your trying to copy has css protection on it your best bet is to rip it with dvd decrypter and then burn it using clonedvd's 3rd option.

    can anyone confirm this?

and also could somebody if possible explain to me how to rip a dvd with dvd decrypter or point me in the direction of a tutorial that would show me how to?

any help with this would be appreciated.

    thanks

than you very much jimmalenko a few of those guides seem pretty straight foward which is quite the relief because the one i was reading earlier had me totally lost lol.

i did have one more question will dvd decrypter remove css protection automatically by default when i rip a dvd or is there an option i have to select to do that?

CSS removal is on by default. You won't have to worry about some of the other settings unless that disc still gives you problems.
