    Hi all

A friend wanted to watch some video files I'm downloading from the net and since I'll be getting some more files that he'd be interested in the future I decided to burn them on to a rw dvd disc.

The discs I got were imation dvd+rw. The authoring and burn process went fine. I decided to give them a test run on the el cheapo panasonic dvd player I've got.

The disc sort of worked. The first time I put it in it worked fine. The second the player said bad disc, so I turned the player on and off and it worked just fine. I watched the disc but eventually it just froze.

    My questions are:

    1. Is there an inherent problem with playing Dvd+rw or -rw in dvd players?

    2. Is the problem with my dvd+rws? If so what brands would people recommend?

I would say it's more of the DVD player problem. Newer DVD player should play fine. Especially those DVD players with DVD+RW or -RW on their playback list.

If your burner allows book type setting (bitsetting) +RW discs then set it as DVD-rom. I have one Apex dvd player that won't accept my DVD+RW unless I do that. My Philips player sometimes fails to load a disc when I forget to set the book type but never fails when I do it.
