Hi all-
I was wondering if there's any benefit to resizing an avi before compression for smaller file size? I have a class play that I shot at open house-it's the standard 720 by whatever size. I want to reduce it to 320 by 240 and put on our school website. I'm using Squeeze 4. Does 'resizing' to 320 by 240 and selecting 'original file size' before compression in Squeeze make any difference? If so, what program does this?
Thanks,
Mark

Resizing down definatly helps compression. Means that the bits/pixel can still remain reasonably high, even with a low bitrate. You would not want the original filesize though. Try 2 pass VP62 @ 700k or so. Also don't forget to de-interlace.
