I installed a Lite-on DVD burner with lightscribe a couple of weeks ago. After about a week it stopped reading dvds. I was getting an error " unsupprted format". I rebooted and it worked again for a few days. Yesterday I put in a dvd and I got nothing, no error message. When I clicked on My Computer and Open on the drive the file was empty. I then tried my samsung dvd rom and the same error came up " unsupprted format". I did an uninstall in device manager and rebooted and the Lite-on works now. The samsung still wont work. Anyone know what the problem could be ? There are no firmware updates for the lite-on. It is a SHM-165H6S Ram. thanks

Are the drives on same IDE channel, and are drives set as master or slave per instructions if documentation specifies such settings? Some drives specify master or slave setting and may not work properly if not set according to specifications.
