In the last few days, every time I try and use DVD Shrink it stops immediately on processing and reports an encrypted sector. Then I try DVD Fab (7 or 8) which (when processing) immediately reports the same. This is on dics which I have previously copied with no problem.
The only chnage to my system in the last few days is an upgrade to AVG free, but it's not all that long since I upgraded to DVD Fab 8, and DVD Shrink seems to have been twitchy since then. Anyone else see similar problems?

    TIA

upgrade to AVG free ---> AVG uses too much registry settings.
it seems like DVDShrink and DVDFab registry messed-up.
    1) uninstall both, using good uninstaller.
    2) Cleanup your registry using good registry cleaner like registry mechanic or CCleaner registry tool.
    3) Re-install both.

only if OS is linux, use DVD95 or DVDCopy.

Good that your problem was fixed, but on the subject it's worth mentioning that if you are one of those people that uses DVD Shrink to decrypt, you should be aware that DVD Shrink hasn't been updated in years and cannot successfully decrypt some newer DVDs. You may not run into this much or at all in the UK as this is mostly true of region 1 DVDs, but it's still worth mentioning as there are a few European DVDs that cannot be decrypted by DVD Shrink.

Yes I generally use DVDFab if DVD shrink won't work, though as you say it isn't a problem very often. I just like its simplicity.
