    Hi, i seen a number of Xvid file that have been rip in Dolby Digital i have a number of
    my own movies that i would like to rip in AC3, what would the best program be to do
    this, i am using DivX Create 6.2 bit cant see any way to rip AC3.

    And you're using the DIVX Converter? That's why. Use a different DVD ripper.

    From what to what? If it's DVD to AVI, I'd say AutoGK is easiest to use and you can set it (under advanced options) to leave the audio in AC3.

    Any program that chose that resolution for you should be consigned to the scrap heap. If you chose it yourself, then you can't be trusted to make a decent AVI, and you should use an automatic process, such as the one that AutoGK provides.

    Yep, AutoGK definitely lets you keep AC3 ... and I *think* AVI.NET does too. Dunno about FairUse Wizard, but they're pretty much the main three these days. Of course you could rip to one big VOB, then use virtualdubmod or virtualdubmpeg-2 and leave the audio in Direct Stream Copy and this should achieve the same effect.
