I bought a movie online (The Constant Gardner) and it turned out to be an Asian DVD. I popped it into my f87 dvd player in my room and it doesn't work. I can sorta see the image but it's all blurred and messed up. I tried the same dvd on my parents Toshiba player and it works perfectly fine. Is there something I might have to set? I figured it was because of the region on the dvd but my parents dvd player isn't hacked so I don't see how they could play dvd's that I can't. Anyone have any ideas?

It is most likely the region code. Not all DVD players have a hardset region code. Some, especially the cheaper brands are region 0 (region free).
The DVD case should have the region code marked on it.
It could also be PAL format and not NTSC. In which case you would need a DVD player that is capable of PAL to NTSC conversion.Google is your Friend -
