I have a DVD that starts automatically when you put it in a DVD player instead of going to the DVD main menu. Instead, it just starts the movie. I want to edit the movie somehow, I guess the IFO, so that I burn a copy and when I put the DVD in, it goes to the menu instead. Is there any way of doing this? It's a storebought DVD with an original menu, not made by me using any program. I'd like to keep the original menu and everything, I'd just like it to go to the menu on boot rather than starting by itself.

I would look at PGCEdit, and this guide for doing exactly that with it

  3. You need IfoEdit.
    1.Open the VIDEO_TS.IFO file
2.Click on VMGM_MAT,then click on First Play PGC.
3.In the lower box right-click on Pre Command and select Edit Command, select "Jump To VideoManager Menu".
BTW..you can change a DVD to play videos first by selecting "Jump To Title 1".

This DVD has 5 Pre Commands. Do I use the first one?

no it's usually the last one. most likely says (jump tt) jump to title 1. what you want to do is change that to start at the main menu instead by using this command - (JumpSS_VTSM) Jump to Titleset Menu. or moviegeeks suggestion. make sure to save your changes before exiting.

  6. Some dvd players have an AUTO Play setting. Yours might be on.

This is NOT a DVD issue, so anything that you do to the DVD is not likely to work. You have a configuration issue somewhere.

If, like your title says, you really want the AUTOPLAY disabled, you have to do this through the REGISTRY. Look in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Cdrom and set AUTORUN to 0x00000000.

From what he's describing, it's NOT AUTOPLAY (which means something else). He just want to see the main menu, instead of it goes straight to the main feature after the disclaimers and warnings. In that case, I'd still say IFOEdit.
