  1. I have got a 1 GB MMC mobile that I use inside my Nokia N70.
I have got a 4 GB SD card that I use inside my HP h2210 Pocket PC.
I have got an external Hama USB 2.0 memory card reader that I use with my work notebook.
I have got an internal memory card reader connected to USB header on the mother board of my home PC (in which internal memory card reader MMC and SD share the same "hole")
Obviously, each card, within its own device, works perfectly, I can write/delete/play files/pictures/movies/whatever.
When I use external card reader (connected to my notebook) with my MMC mobile card, again, I do not have any problem, I can read files and I can write fles on my MMC card (not performed anything yet with such an externall card reader on my 4 GB SD because it's very new).
When I put both my MMC and my SD card into the internal card reader of my PC, they are recognized, with Windows Explorer I can look at their properties, their size, I can copy files from card to PC.
Problems arise when, still inserted in the internal card reader of my PC, I try to write any file either on MMC or on SD. After having dragged (and released) any file over a folder of MMC/SD, systems says: "Cannot write file because card is write protected".
Obviously they are not (???), MMC hasn't got any, and lock switch on SD is off (I remind that MMC and SD in their own devices works perfectly, I can write files on same cards and delte files as well).
Any idea what is wrong with my internal card reader?
Perhaps are there certain "strange bits/flags" written onto MMC and SD card such as the devices (mobile ophone and Pcoket PC) "don't care" and still write data on cards but PC card reader acknowledge same "bits/flags" and stops writing?
I appreciate any hint, because to write files on SD inserted in my Pocket PC and using Microsoft ActiveSync (together with Windows Explorer) is EXTREMELY SLOW (with same cards inserted in nto USB card reader it would WAY FASTER to write files on).
    Thanks

  2. Maybe reformat both cards in the internal reader (after saving any needed files from the cards). Also make sure files on the card are simply not set to read-only (right click in windows, properties) I think folders are sometimes set to read only when dragged and dropped.. eg try to create a new folder on card instead of overwriting old folder. I bet activesync is doing something to protect the files, try maybe re-setting some options??
Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.

Yes, I already did it. The "read-only" flag is "half-set" in folders, then I blank it, apply, re-enter, the "rtead-only" mark is blank, but again, once I try either to write on or to delete something I get: "Cannot write because drive is write protected".

While I "could" agree with about my SD (written through ActiveSync through my h2210), as far as my MMC is concerned, I never wrote on it with any ActiveSync whatsoever. On such a MMC I wrote files either with mobile phone itself or with another "external" card reader (a "Digimate II" device, a portable 40 GB HD AND card reader (but which Digimate II cannot read my 4 GB SD probably beacause it cannot address memory cards larger than 1 GB)).
Same slot, both for MMC and for SD, and I get same result: "Cannot write because drive is write protected".
And when I use my Hama external card reader, I write on my MMC very easily, drag and drop. Very easy.
It's only my internal reader that is very "picky".
Any idea on which sort of setting I can "change" in Windows XP and/or what could I look for?
I have been told there is a "flag" into the MMC/SD (NOT writeable with card readers) that on same readers tells them: "I am only reader, don't think to write on me", while others readers simply skip that flag and write without any problem.
I looked with Google for such a software that can change that "flag" and/or can write directly files onto cards, I saw "something" about the subject but I could not find any software.
    Any hint?
