This has gotten very frustrating. I've uninstalled and reinstalled codecs ad nauseum (you don't want to hear the story) to no effect. It still sounds like crap. I can split out the Vorbis audio and convert it to something else with DBPowerAmp and it plays fine, so I know the problem has to be with the codecs somewhere. Almost sounds like it's not keeping up with realtime, but every other format seems to be able to and Vorbis' claim to fame is a lower bitrate, isn't it? I'm running 2.4GHz with 1.25G of RAM. I'd think that's enough horsepower. Any ideas? I'm getting to where I cringe whenever I see a .ogm extension. HELP! Thanks.

Probably you are using ffdshow set to tremor to decode. Try setting it to libavcodec or using corevorbis.

Thanks, but I've already been that route. ffdshow was one the things I completely uninstalled for a while. Made no difference.

So what are you using to decode?

Hmmm.... I'm pretty sure it's ffdshow right now, but I've been through a couple of other Vorbis codecs and it didn't make a bit of difference. As I type, I'm busy repackaging a bunch of OGM files as Matroska/AC3. I'm tired of it. Still, thanks if you have any ideas.
