Which file formats allow you to render a movie and preserve transparency so I can then take that movie and import it later on onto other video clips
i need to preserve the transparency though so i can overlay it

QT targa and png are two easy ones to use -- there are several others ... what are you using to render a movie?

render with what ? render could mean a lot of things ..
in other words - are you sure it has transparency to begin with ?

yes it has transprancy to begin with, i think the alpha channel is transparent if i remember correctly

well then render it in the same format as it is most likely lossless compression ...
